WHY?

Why the need for organizations like “Mountains For All”?

Look around the mountains. The rivers. The trail head, the ski lodge, the local gear shop.

A sea of homogeneity.

For the most part, outdoor recreation has been the exclusive domain of the privileged few.

Mountains are for everyone. Mountains For All.

WHAT WE DO

Our program is designed as a multi-week program that takes kids to Mt. Hood, providing them with the gear they need as well as the appropriate instruction. We create confidence and a sense of belonging. By starting in the 4th grade, we’re able to introduce mountain recreation early in their live to help create a lifelong relationship.

Year 1:

Weekly (8) week “alpine club”where kids are transported from a central meeting location to the mountain for participation in ski lessons.

All costs (lessons, soft goods, hard goods, transportation, etc) borne through MFA, either through fundraising and/or donations.

Year 2 & 3:

Add additional opportunities to build an organizational portfolio to recreate year-round (camping, mountain biking, rafting, paddle boarding, surfing, etc).

We work with Portland schools and other local organizations to connect with the kids and their families.
